~I just wanted to let you guys know that I have stepped down as Admin/swap mod at the crochetmania board.

~My reasons are mine, NO ONE, and I mean no one swayed me into this action.

~Just know that things are not always what they seem. Some of you will know what I mean soon enough. There is always more that one viewpoint.

~I will miss the members, and I truly enjoyed my role there.

~I will now focus on crocheting, and my endless pattern search!

~So, let's move on, have fun, crochet much, and be happy!

LAP TOP FIASCO

WEll, we finally got hubby his
lap top!!! YAY! Sounds good right......
Sure it is! lol

We went to FRYS in Arlington.......
picked one out, and drove the hour
(almost) home...........
Then realized it was refurbished.
So, drove all the way back, and they
were rude, so we got our money back.

Then drove another 30 minutes, and went
to Comp USA.............who were wonderful!!
Thank you Chas for all of your help!!

So, we have the lap top....and its amazing!!!
I got it all set up for him last night, and
this morning he left to go out of town.
HE TOOK THE BLASTED THING WITH HIM.....
AND I WANT IT!!!!!! LOL
I really like it........I have never used one before.

Ok, so I know what I want for Christmas! PLUS a
digicam.

I think I've been good enough this year! hahahhaha!!!

But, all kidding aside. I'm so glad he got his LapTop!!
He never buys anything for himself, and he works so
hard. He definitely deserves it. He has not complained
YET about my yarnaholism. He did recently say
something about my WIPS. I thought.....and now it b
egins!!! lol

I tried to explain to him, that as crocheters, we
tend to do this. I know that some of you are better
than others. ( I'm terrible!) But, we always tend to
have some WIPS. It's just a part of the
whole crochet craziness!

On another note!
Miranda just showed me this great
English Tea Store. Take it from me,
the prices are sooooo good, and shipping
is very good!

~My Trip To OK~

I must be crazy...........
I stayed up all night on Tuesday, 5 30am Wednesday, left my house for a drive to OK city.
I got their at 9am.
We visited my brother and his family. It was a wonderful visit! WE swam, and played, and talked
forever! I didn't go to bed until 5am Thursday morning.........As I said, I must be crazy!!!!
It was all very worth it! The drive was nice, the scenery beautiful! The company lovely!

Now, I was planning on leaving Wednesday night, but just couldn't leave, lol!!
I did leave Thursday night at 1030pm, and got home at 2am.
By 3 am I was out cold.

I think I'm still recovering!! hahahahhah

With all of that said, I will be driving back up there! SOON!!

Now, I'm trying to to figure out how to be in Kansas (centerville) by the 14th,
have the puppies cared for, and be back on the 15th. (girls start school on the 16th)
I just hate the idea of driving over 8 hours, for such a short time. BUT, I really want
to see my nephews calf in the fair!!!!! Hmmmmm...what to do, and how to do it.

Now, while I'm that close to a friend ( she's only 3 hrs away from where I need to be in Kansas)
I would love to meet up with her. 3 hours........hmmmmm.........If I go all that way,
I have to add that in to the mix. ( I would be crazy not to!!)
I have met her online, and she's the greatest! Now, any ideas.........I really need them.

Oh boy, If hubby could come with us, I could drop them off, go have lunch with her,
and still have plenty of time with the family!

Oh well, I guess I need to figure it out sooooooon! I'm running out of time, lol!

Ohhhhh, and little brother wants me to stop by on the drive up.............
I want to do that toooo...............OHHHHHHHHHHH BOYYYYYYYYYY
this will be a fun trip if it works out, lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW! I have some wonderful freinds!!!!

Last week, I, no, scratch that, my girls, received 2 big boxes in the mail.
They were sooooo suprised!!! They received a scrapbook photo album each,
a knifty knitter, a twister key chain set, and a bunch of yarn!!!!

I love you guys for doing this! You will never know how much this means
to me that you thought of them.
You guys are the best! I am forever greatful that I have met you.
Forever blessed just because you are in my life.

First off, I want to thank all of you crocheters
out there! I have gotten to learn some nifty
little tricks, and really expanded my crochet
knowledge. To all of you who post your patterns,
and share your excitement, and just share your
love of crochet...THANK YOU!!

WE have a Square~A~Month swap going on at the
'Mania. Miranda had wanted to participate, but it
had already started. So, instead of waiting for 11
more swappers, we started swapping with each
other.

Well, we had a swapper that had to drop out due
to circumstances out of her control :(.
Soooo, 2 fellow Maniacs swooped in to save the
day! Thanx Kathy and Miranda!

So, now we are both in the main S~A~M, and also
have our side swap going on. We were chatting the
night and have decided to just re-start our swap.
lol!!! We both have chosen some colors, and are
starting over!

I chose (with her help, lol) Drews Monet Afghan.
Now, His is absolutely beautiful! I hope I can
give it the justice it deserves. I am using Carons
Simply Soft in Autumn Red and Bone. (so not
actually Monet anymore, lol) Now, instead of
using one strand, I'm using 2.
I will post pics when its completed and she has it!
I'm thinking this may take a while............

St.Judes Update

Hey fellow Crocheters and Knitters!

The Toy drive worked out completely different than I was expecting.
Because of the neeed for sterility, we are limited in what we can make.
They can not take hand made toys. :(

Yet, they do need bandannas and head coverings. Here is the list of
things that we can do that they need.

Handmade/fabric items should befrom pet-free, smoke-free areaand must
be individually wrapped ina sealed ZipLoc bag.This includes items such as:
Do-Rag / Bandana Head Coverings*Quilts Tote Bags Bibs/Burp Pads

Now, Can we pull together as a Crafting Community and give these kids
some homemade gifts, gifts that are needed. From our hearts to theirs.
Let's tlet them know that we are thinking of them, and keep them in our
prayers. If you have any pattern links for these items, please let me know,
and I will list them here.

Another #9 sort of Day

Well, Hubby got back last night, but had to leave again this morning. He is going back down to the San Antonio area. I still haven't found the Van keys, so we're getting another set made up.

This morning, we left at 5:15 am, and after dropping him off, the girls and I had our traditional McDonalds #9 breakfast! (it's how we treat ourselves, we all hate saying bye to dad!) AND, I picked up a Cafe Mocha with half and half, and chocolate drizzle. Yes, I know, awful, and I started my diet Monday...(after that #9)...LOL!I love my coffee though, and it's been a chocolate craving sort of week!

The best thing about my day so far is.......I was able to wear my shawl in the car!!!! Hubby usually has the air on, and it gets a little chilly, but if I wear a sweater or long sleeves, I'm dying on the way home........Just very uncomfortable. So you guessed it, I finished a wip!!! YAY!!!!I was sooo pleased!!! Now, It's not exactly finished though. I still have to add the fringe. I don't want to, but I think it would look better with one. I just dont want to do it, lol!!! So, I'm going to change my WIP bar to 95% until I decide to do the fringe.

Now, I get to work on my swaps, comfortghans, and make the 2 seraphina shawls. I'm dreading the first 11 rows for sure. I hear they are the hardest. I have one round done, lol!!! I think I chose the wrong yarn to use for it. I bought the Jo-Anns Sensations Rainbow Boucle. Argggggggggggg. I have not used it before, and I think it will be a pain until I get used to it. Wish me luck!

OK, Here's Another

Well, Here I go, I'm making a post! :)
A certain friend doesn't seem to
think I post enough..........
You know who you are!!!
So, this ones for you!
(~nice and Long too~) lol

Hubby went out of town again today.
He should be back by Friday.........
Hopefully! This morning I was up at
5:30 am, so that I could take him to
work. Why do I need to do that when
we have 2 cars you ask??? Well, my
lovely daughters (~not sure which one~)
have lost my keys for the Van.We have
searched everywhere for them, but to no avail.

Well, I thought I would have a fight on my
hands getting the girls up, but, it went smoothly.
Now, ofcourse they kept wanting us to stop for
junk food.........BUT NO!!! lol! And Yet.......

Whenever I take hubby to work, the girls and
I have started a tradition. We stop by Mickie Ds
for breakfast. All of us go for the number 9! Bacon,
egg, and cheese mc'griddle! If you haven't tried
them....GO AHEAD!!! They are smashing!
( This morning I ttreated them to the same,
so I guess junk food after all.)

I paid my bills, dropped off the movies, AND went
grocery shopping , and made it home by 8:45 am!!
Woo Hooo! Laundry is done, and plan on cleaning
tomorrow! But, all in all, I think I had a great start
today.

So, now we're being lazy, lol! I have been working on
the blog.....I think it's finally going in the direction I want.
Ofcourse, I'm sure I'll want to change the scheme again
soon........HA ha.Oh well!

We were supposed to to get rain Saturday, and it
was acting like it was going to. BUT, no rain.........
We really need it, so pray for rain to hit!
Pleassssssssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

I am a Friends fan.Absolutely loved it! Well, I have
had the first season on dvd forever. But today I
picked up season 2!!!!! Yay! Wooo Hooo!! I passed
up yarn to get it, yes you read it right!! I must be
loosing it! lol

A note about yarn. I have decided to not buy anymore
for a while. Now, let's see how long that lasts.OK,the
reason?? Well, I have bought yarn for all of my
different WIPS. I have a long list of them. SO, I
figured I don't NEED to buy more. (SWAPS not
included, lol...left myself an out!!) Maybe this will
kick my butt into finishing what I already have
started. WE WILL SOON SEE....... hmmmmmm

So wish me luck. Have any of you made this desicion??

I'M BACK

Ok, I'm back , Yay! I was MIA for 5 days. Hubby was home, and took the week off. So we did a lot of fun family stuff!
We went to a water park! The lake, the movies, and rented some, also played games............Awww it was so nice!
Now hubby is gone again and it's quiet at the house.
But, me and my girls have gone to the lake.........Now, call me crazy, but I took both girls and the the dogs........All in all, it was fun!
Now, all is back to normal, well, as normal as can be! I have been crocheting again! YAY!! I have so many squares done now, and working on some special RAOKs.....but I can't tell what they are!
I wish I had more time to crochet! There just never seems to be enough hours! I still am a slow crocheter........Working on getting faster, but I am so much better than I was 6mnths ago, So I guess that's progress!
Anyways, I hope all of you are getting to have some fun with your crochet! And hey.....try something new!

This started out as a crocheted/knit
toy drive, but I found out that
they are unable to accept those
type of items. So, let's do what
we can to help in anyway possible.

St. Jude Suggested Patient Gift List
– Please Do Not Gift-Wrap Items

Per Doctor’s Orders (to maximize
effectiveness of patient treatment
and reduce chances of infection or
serious allergic reactions):
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Handmade/fabric items should be

I would like to start a toy drive for St.Judes.I have contacted St.Judes, and I am waiting for the info on how to proceed.
I am asking all of you to please consider making one toy, and make a child smile.

It would bring so many smiles to the children, and they desperately need them. We may not be able to give a lot of money, or help in other areas, but this we can do.
